The explanation should stand up to a closer look.

How we prepare articles, use illustrations and keep the limits visible.

Last updated 25 October 2026.

Start with a mechanism

Each film and article focuses on a specific question. We distinguish established descriptions from illustrative choices and avoid using a dramatic image as evidence for a clinical claim.

Use traceable sources

Sources appear beside the relevant sections and in the reading list. We prioritise public health agencies and primary references appropriate to the question. A source-check date records when links and information were consulted; it does not imply a clinical review.

Explain what AI is doing

AI tools assist drafting, narration, imagery and editing. Anatomy, droplets, fluid movements and changes over time may be simplified for teaching. AI output is checked against the intended explanation; it is not treated as an independent source.

Medical scope

Articles are general education, not individual advice. We do not infer a diagnosis from a visitor's symptoms, recommend personal doses or tell readers to stop prescribed treatment. The current articles have not been independently reviewed by a licensed medical professional.

Corrections and updates

When a factual correction is made, update the affected explanation, source list and article date together. To flag an issue while our dedicated contact channel is being established, leave a correction request on the related Curio Within video through the platform where you found it. Include the article title and the specific claim.

Commercial relationships

This version contains no sponsored articles, affiliate product links or advertisements. Any future commercial relationship should be identified where it appears.
